Sacramento Blankets for Sacramento Kids (SBSK) provides handmade blankets (knit, crochet, quilted, sewn, or no-sew fleece blankets), made by volunteers of all ages (from 6 to 95) in the Greater Sacramento Area, to children in need from infants to 18-year-olds. We provide blankets locally to children in the Sacramento and Placer Counties (hospitals, shelters, homeless, just going through a difficult time); for State emergencies (fires, earthquakes, floods); and National emergencies (9/11, Katrina, shootings). We’ve been making blankets for children for many years and have a strong desire to help children in need from infants to 18-year-olds in Sacramento and Placer counties. We also want this to be fun for people who enjoy knitting, crocheting, sewing, quilting and making no-sew fleece blankets. It’s a great way to give back from the comfort of your home! Every blanket helps a child in our community. (We also send blankets to State and National emergencies when needed.) Students and Scouts also welcome for community service hours. If you are interested in joining SBSK, please go to our subscription page, to sign up for our mailing list. We will keep you informed about upcoming events and news in the world of blanketeering. Please feel free to contact Claire Gliddon if you have any questions, and thank you for joining this wonderful project!
